About Alvin
Alvin Brown earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Colorado–Colorado Springs and went on to receive a J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School. He completed a traditional legal education that combined classroom work, research, and practical training at one of the state’s law schools. His academic background gave him a grounding in both the theoretical and practical sides of law.
He is admitted to practice in Colorado. Since finishing law school he has worked within the state’s legal community, counseling clients and appearing in state forums. He has built a practice that reflects an understanding of Colorado’s statutes and court procedures, as well as the ways local institutions operate. Colleagues describe him as methodical; clients have relied on him for clear explanations about legal processes.
In the office he spends time on research, case preparation and client meetings. He applies doctrinal analysis from his law training to real-world problems. His work requires attention to detail and steady engagement with procedural rules. He approaches each matter by breaking issues into discrete questions, then addressing them one by one rather than relying on broad strokes.
Outside direct client work he remains connected to the state’s legal institutions. He keeps current through continuing legal education and by tracking changes in Colorado law. This steady attention to developments in statutes and decisions helps inform his advice and courtroom strategy. He also draws on the political science background from his undergraduate studies when issues intersect with public policy and government practice.
Today he practices law in Colorado, representing clients in state matters and advising them on legal issues that arise under Colorado law. He maintains a practice centered on state jurisdiction and continues to work with individuals and organizations that require counsel within the state’s legal system.
