About Allison C.

Allison C. Coates graduated from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2017 after earning her bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Law from the University of Florida in 2013. She came through a strong state-university pipeline and left law school equipped with coursework and clinical experience that built on her undergraduate studies. Her academic path kept her tied to Florida institutions and prepared her for practice in the state.

After law school, Coates joined Sandy T. Fox, P.A. as an associate. She has worked at the firm since entering the profession. Her time there has encompassed routine law office responsibilities and the file work that comes with representing clients at different stages of a matter. She is a regular presence in the firm’s caseload and contributes to client intake, case development, and drafting key pleadings and motions.

Coates is a member of The Florida Bar. That membership allows her to represent clients in Florida courts and regulatory settings. She holds the licenses necessary to practice in the state and maintains the continuing legal education and administrative requirements that accompany bar membership. In conversations with colleagues she is described as steady and practical in managing files and meeting court deadlines.

Her background in criminology and law gives her a particular vantage on matters that touch both criminal justice and civil legal processes. She applies that training when analyzing facts, preparing legal arguments, and advising clients on procedural options. Her work at the firm requires attention to evidence, rules of procedure, and negotiation. She also assists senior attorneys in trial preparation and in developing case strategy when litigation moves toward hearing or trial.

Colleagues say Coates balances detailed case work with the steady administrative side of practice. She handles motions and discovery tasks, drafts client correspondence, and helps prepare exhibits and witness outlines. Those day-to-day responsibilities form the bulk of her professional activity at the firm. She currently practices law in Florida as an associate at Sandy T. Fox, P.A.
