About Allecia
Allecia Pottinger earned her J.D. from Texas Southern University in 1994. She moved into legal practice after law school and built a career that spans courtroom work, administrative hearings and alternative dispute resolution. Her early training at Texas Southern provided the groundwork for a practice rooted in Texas law and federal appellate jurisdiction in the Fifth Circuit.
By 2005 she was practicing through Allecia Lindsey Pottinger Law Office PLLC. That phase of her career marks her public profile as a lawyer managing her own practice. Over the years she has combined representation with roles that require an impartial approach, such as serving as a hearing officer and mediator.
Pottinger is admitted to practice in Texas and in the Fifth Circuit. She holds certifications that shape much of her day-to-day work: she is a Certified Hearing Examiner for the Texas Education Agency and a Certified Mediator through ADR Mediator Inc. Those credentials allow her to preside over administrative hearings and to offer mediation services in disputes that might otherwise proceed to litigation.
Her community and professional involvement stretches back decades. She has served on the board of the Brentwood Baptist Church Federal Credit Union since 1999. She was vice president and of counsel to the board of Independence Heights Community Health Center from 2009 to 2013. In 2012 she served as president of the Le Tigers Booster Club for Texas Southern University’s Women’s Bowling Team. Earlier, she took on a leadership role in the Houston Lawyers Association, serving as treasurer and on its board from 2006 to 2010.
Pottinger also practices under the ALP Law Office name. Her practice balances client representation with neutral roles that require procedural knowledge and impartial decision-making. That combination has informed the kinds of cases and administrative matters she accepts.
She continues to work in Texas, handling administrative hearings, mediations and related civil matters. Her current practice concentrates on those areas and on representing clients in proceedings that involve education and administrative law.
