About Alison

She earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology in 2001 after beginning her studies in 1998. After law school she entered practice in Illinois. Over the years she has handled matters that required attention to state statutes and local court rules. In 2009 she became a partner at Motta & Motta LLC. That change marked a shift toward shared management responsibilities alongside ongoing client work.
Motta’s work is centered in the Chicago area. She splits her time between the firm’s Aurora and Chicago offices. That geography allows her to serve clients in both suburban and city settings. She routinely appears in state courts and handles filings and client consultations from both locations.
Clients and other lawyers have noted her practical sense and steady courtroom demeanor. She focuses on clear explanations for clients and prepares cases so options are visible before key steps are taken. Her colleagues rely on her to handle procedural issues and to shepherd matters through local court systems.
Outside the courtroom she contributes to firm management at Motta & Motta LLC, the practice where she has been a partner since 2009. Her role includes case oversight and mentoring more junior attorneys. She balances those responsibilities while maintaining a caseload drawn from the firm’s two offices.
In the current phase of her career she continues to practice in Illinois and maintains an active presence in both Aurora and Chicago. Her current practice focuses on civil matters arising under Illinois law.
