About Alisha
Alisha Melvin built a foundation in law after an early start in real estate. She earned a B.A. from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2004. She went on to receive a J.D. from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2007. Those credentials shaped a career that straddles two professional worlds: brokerage and litigation-adjacent legal work.
Her professional life began in the real estate market. In 1998 she launched Alisha Melvin Esq Real Estate Services, operating as a broker and brokerage owner. That hands-on experience in property sales and brokerage management ran alongside legal training. In 2010 she joined the State Bar of Texas and established Melvin and Associates PLLC. She also holds certification from the Pro Bono College of the State Bar of Texas.
She is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, New York, Texas and the District of Columbia. Her membership record includes the State Bar of Texas, where she has been active since 2010. On the real estate side she maintains broker memberships with the Collin County Association of Realtors and the Greater Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors. She has been a member of the Texas Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors since 2013.
Melvin’s career reflects dual fluency in market practice and legal process. Her background as a broker gives her practical perspective on transactions and closings. Her law training informs contract drafting, title questions and regulatory concerns. Colleagues and clients encounter an attorney who understands both the paperwork and the marketplace dynamics that shape deals.
Melvin and Associates PLLC serves as the base for her current work. The firm handles matters that often touch on contract negotiation, real estate conveyancing and brokerage operations. Cases and client engagements tend to require coordination across jurisdictions and professional disciplines, and her registrations in multiple states assist in that work. She currently practices at Melvin and Associates PLLC, where her practice centers on residential and commercial real estate transactions and related legal matters.
