About Alfonso Alfie
Alfonso Alfie Leon built his career at the intersection of local government and law. He moved from student leadership to municipal policy work and then into private practice. The path shows an interest in how rules and institutions shape daily life in a city.
Leon earned his J.D. from Florida International University College of Law in 2014. He completed his undergraduate studies at Florida International University in 2009, graduating with a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology. While an undergraduate, he served as Student Body President and as a member of the university’s Board of Trustees in 2006, an early sign of involvement in campus governance.
His legal training included practical placements tied to public service. In 2012 he worked as a certified legal intern in FIU’s Health, Law, & Policy Clinic. The next year he served as a certified legal intern and law clerk for the City of Miami. Those roles exposed him to municipal law issues and to the intersection of health policy and legal practice.
Leon moved into municipal staffing after law school. In 2015 he was hired by the City of Miami as a Legislative Aide and then served as Chief Policy Advisor for Commissioner District 3. The position involved advising on policy proposals, tracking legislative activity, and coordinating with stakeholders across the city. That experience gave him a view of how local ordinances and administrative actions are shaped.
By 2018 Leon was practicing as a lawyer at Wolfson & Leon. His curriculum vitae lists the firm as his current office. He is a member of The Florida Bar and is licensed to practice in Florida. At the firm he has translated municipal and policy experience into client work, handling matters that benefit from an understanding of local government processes and regulatory frameworks. He also draws on his clinic work when issues touch on health law or public policy concerns.
Colleagues and former supervisors note the continuity in Leon’s career: early leadership, hands-on legal clinics, municipal advising, and private practice. The threads are evident in the kinds of matters he takes on and the perspective he brings to cases. He currently practices at Wolfson & Leon, where his work centers on municipal law, policy-related matters, and issues that overlap with health and administrative law.
