About Alexander J.

Alexander J. Cuda trained first as a student of letters and law. He earned a B.A. in Comparative Literature and Latin from Cornell University in 2000, then went on to Tulane University School of Law where he received his J.D. in 2003. He remained at Tulane for an LL.M., completed in 2004. Those years gave him a mix of liberal arts and legal study that still shapes how he approaches cases.

Cuda built his career in Connecticut. He is admitted to practice in the state and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Early work and subsequent practice have centered on family law matters. Over time his work has moved from courtroom litigation to the full range of matrimonial practice, including negotiations and post-judgment matters.

He has long been active in bar activities. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Fairfield County Bar Association, a role he has held since 2014. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Family Law Section, where he has served since 2010. Outside those posts he retains memberships in the American Bar Association and the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association. These affiliations keep him plugged into evolving rules and local practice trends.

Colleagues describe his courtroom style as direct and pragmatic. He prepares cases to be tried, but he also prepares them to be settled. That dual posture guides how he presents options to clients. He handles divorce litigation, custody disputes, support calculations and enforcement work. He represents individuals across the economic spectrum, often in matters where financial and parenting issues intersect.

In recent years Cuda has focused attention on the procedural and appellate aspects of family law. His admission to the Second Circuit allows him to pursue appeals when parties seek review beyond the state level. He continues to attend continuing legal education programs and participates in panel discussions and local bar workshops on family law topics.

He is a partner at Needle | Cuda: Divorce and Family Law, where he practices alongside other attorneys concentrated on matrimonial matters. He lives and works in Connecticut and balances practice duties with bar service and educational outreach to the legal community. He practices family law, handling divorce and related matters at Needle | Cuda: Divorce and Family Law.
