About Alexander I.
Alexander I. Passo built his legal foundation at Purdue University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts, and then at Chicago‑Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he received his J.D. He arrived in law school after an undergraduate education shaped by liberal arts study, and he left with practical courtroom experience already on his résumé.
While still a student, Passo spent time as an extern at the Supreme Court of Virginia in 2012. That placement exposed him to appellate procedures and opinion writing at a high level. The following year he joined Patterson Law Office, LLC, where he worked on matters that gave him early hands‑on experience in client representation and case preparation.
By 2018 Passo was working as a lawyer at Latimer LeVay Fyock. His career path shows steady movement from academic training to roles inside law offices and courts. He holds admission to practice in Illinois and Indiana, and he is admitted to the Seventh Circuit. He is a current member of the State Bar of Indiana. Those credentials reflect a practice that spans both state and federal forums within the Seventh Circuit’s geography.
Colleagues describe Passo as methodical and attentive to procedural detail. He learned the rhythms of litigation and appellate work through a mix of court placements and firm work. Over time he has developed familiarity with the mechanics of filing, briefing, and courtroom advocacy, and he has navigated cases that require coordination across state lines and federal appellate procedures.
Outside the courtroom he has maintained ties to bar organizations in the states where he practices. That engagement keeps him connected to developments in procedural rules and case law that affect his clients. He approaches each file by assessing jurisdictional questions early and by mapping litigation timelines clearly for those involved.
He currently represents clients in matters that come before Illinois and Indiana courts and appears in the Seventh Circuit when appeals arise. His practice is grounded in courtroom procedure and interjurisdictional practice across Illinois, Indiana and the Seventh Circuit.
