About Alexander B
Alexander B Blum began his path to law after completing a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Southern California in 2000. He returned to school several years later and earned his Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2009. That combination of undergraduate study and later legal training shaped a practical approach to client work.
He entered practice in 2009 at Addis Greenberg, LLC, taking on the responsibilities typical of a first-year attorney. The following year he joined the Law Office of Bruce R. Entman as an associate, where he gained further hands-on experience in client representation. Those early years were spent building courtroom familiarity and learning the daily demands of legal practice.
In 2014 he moved to Shindler Law Office as an associate lawyer. The next year he worked at The Ticket Clinic as an associate, then in 2016 he established his own practice as Lead Lawyer at Alexander Blum, Lawyer at Law. Along the way he also associated with professional groups; records show membership in the Lake County Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association during the 2016–2017 period. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and has continued to work in that jurisdiction since his admission.
Colleagues describe Blum as a lawyer who approaches cases methodically. He has handled a range of matters across several small firms and his own practice, which has required both courtroom appearances and client counseling. His experience spans the practical routines of litigation and the organizational demands of running a solo practice. He moves between short-term matters that resolve quickly and longer disputes that require sustained attention.
Clients who come to Blum can expect an attorney accustomed to managing files alone and coordinating with opposing counsel when cases require negotiation. He has experience guiding clients through hearings and filings, and he runs a practice that emphasizes clear communication about next steps and likely timelines. Blum has balanced time in associate roles with the administrative responsibilities of leading his own office.
As of 2026 he continues to practice law in Illinois from his solo firm, handling matters at the trial level and representing individual clients in state proceedings. He currently focuses his practice on providing litigation and courtroom representation for clients in Illinois.
