About Alex R.

Alex R. Hess earned his undergraduate degree at Lafayette College, receiving a B.A. in 2007 with concentrations in economics and finance and in government and law. He went on to attend Suffolk University Law School and graduated with a J.D. in 2010. His legal studies included work in commercial litigation, bankruptcy and finance.

After law school he established a practice that touches on several areas of business and housing law. He is admitted to the bar in Massachusetts and to several federal courts, including the First Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. He also holds a Housing Court Certification from the Boston Bar Association, a credential relevant to landlord-tenant and housing court proceedings.

Hess maintains memberships in professional organizations that track his subject matter interests. He has been a member of the Boston Bar Association since 2011 and holds the Housing Court Certification through that organization. He joined the Massachusetts Bar Association in 2012 and the American Bankruptcy Institute in 2018. Those affiliations reflect steady engagement with the bankruptcy and commercial litigation communities.

His work touches on commercial disputes and insolvency matters. He handles contested matters in bankruptcy and litigates business disputes in state and federal court. He also appears in housing court cases where the certification permits a specialized practice. He balances courtroom work and client counseling, drafting pleadings and motions, negotiating resolutions and advocating at hearings.

Clients see him for issues that intersect finance and litigation. That includes creditor representation in insolvency proceedings, defense and prosecution of commercial claims, and housing-related litigation. He brings training from law school and practical experience in court to those matters. His approach is procedural and methodical; he focuses on the legal questions that determine outcomes rather than on rhetoric.

Hess practices under the name Alex R. Hess Law Group. He operates in Massachusetts and in federal venues where he is admitted, and he remains active in local and national bar organizations. At Alex R. Hess Law Group he handles commercial litigation, bankruptcy, housing court matters and related finance issues.
