About Alex
Alex Ozols built his legal path across two countries and several public and private roles. He began with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia, then returned to California to earn his J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2012. That year marked his formal entry into the profession and the start of a sequence of jobs that moved him quickly into practice.
He worked as a law clerk at Pacific Law Center in 2010, gaining early exposure to case preparation and courtroom procedure. In 2011 he served in the San Diego public defender’s office, representing clients facing criminal charges and learning how to manage cases under pressure. After law school he joined The Law Office of Bradley Corbett as an associate in 2012, handling a mix of client matters and courtroom appearances.
Two years later he opened his own practice. In 2014 Ozols became owner and partner of Ozols Law Office. The firm name appears in local directories under accident and injury law. Establishing a private practice allowed him to shift from the constraints of associate roles to the responsibilities of firm management and client development. He has since overseen case intake, litigation strategy, and the day-to-day running of a small firm.
Ozols’s career threads through public defense work and private plaintiff-side practice. That variety gave him experience on both sides of courtroom dynamics. He handled criminal defense work in San Diego early on, then moved into civil claims at the Bradley Corbett office and later at his own firm. Those different settings shaped how he approaches client interviews, evidence gathering, and settlement talks.
Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in the courtroom. He tends to temper courtroom assertiveness with attention to procedure. He learned to manage limited resources in the public defender’s office and to deploy them efficiently in civil cases. The transition to firm ownership brought new tasks: supervising support staff, overseeing budgets, and setting firm policies.
Outside of casework he maintains professional ties in the California bar. He has stayed active in local legal circles and continues to practice under the Ozols Law Office name. His background spans both the Canadian undergraduate system and a U.S. law degree, a combination that gave him a broader view of legal training and professional norms.
He practices in California and handles matters through Ozols Law Office, where his current practice focuses on accident and injury law.
