About Alex
Alex Aguirre studied government at the University of Notre Dame, earning a B.A. in 1992. He went on to law school at the University of Houston, where he received his J.D. in 1996. Those years set the course for a career spent largely in Texas courtrooms and classrooms.
He began practicing as an associate attorney at O Connell and Benjamin, LLP in 2000. That role introduced him to courtroom work and client advocacy. In 2004 he moved into a managing position as the head of the San Antonio office for Jim Adler and Associates. The firm work there broadened his trial experience and heightened his profile in the local legal community.
In 2006 Aguirre added teaching to his resume. He served as an adjunct professor at Northwest Vista College. Students knew him as a practitioner who could translate legal concepts into practical lessons. Teaching also kept him close to changes in law and to a new generation of prospective lawyers.
Aguirre has taken on leadership roles in local and statewide organizations. He served as president and has held a board position in the Mexican American Bar Association. He has also been a board member of the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association. He maintains memberships in the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the San Antonio Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association. His peers have recognized his trial work through lifetime memberships in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. In 2023 he was listed in Lawyers of Distinction.
He is authorized to practice throughout Texas and holds a federal license for the Western and Southern Divisions of the U.S. District Courts. That federal admission expands the range of cases he can accept and has figured prominently in his litigation work.
Aguirre founded The Aguirre Law Office, PLLC, where he serves as the principal attorney. The practice reflects years of courtroom practice, firm management, and classroom instruction. He continues to appear in state and federal trial courts and to engage in the kinds of civil litigation that have occupied his career.
Clients and colleagues describe him as steady and pragmatic at trial. He draws on decades of local experience and organizational involvement when preparing cases. His current practice focuses on civil litigation matters in state and federal courts in Texas.
