About Albert J.
Albert J. Soler built a path from the laboratory to the courtroom. He earned a B.S. in biology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1997 and later completed a J.D. at the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2003. Those two degrees shape how he approaches legal problems: methodically, and with attention to technical detail.
After law school Soler joined Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP as a litigation associate. He worked on complex commercial disputes and learned the routines of large-firm litigation. In 2010 he launched Soler Legal LLC to offer more focused counsel to clients in media and technology. In 2023 he also served as a partner at Scarinci Hollenbeck, adding a larger platform for entertainment and intellectual property matters to his résumé.
Soler is admitted to practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. He is an active member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. Those memberships reflect an ongoing engagement with both the legal community and developments in intellectual property law.
His work crosses several intersecting fields. He handles intellectual property disputes and litigation, often involving copyright, trademark and licensing questions that arise in the entertainment and media sectors. He also advises clients in sports and media on transactional issues, contract interpretation and rights clearance. His early training in biology gives him extra familiarity when cases touch scientific or technical subject matter.
Colleagues and clients tend to notice his litigation background and how it informs negotiation. He approaches deals knowing what is likely to hold up in court. He can move from filing pleadings to drafting licensing agreements without skipping a beat. That range has helped him represent creative professionals, media companies and organizations in the sports and entertainment industries.
Soler’s practice has combined the resources of larger firms with the flexibility of a smaller shop. He has spent time in a major New York litigation practice, built his own firm and taken on a partner role at a regional firm. The mix gives him a vantage point on both courtroom strategy and practical business needs.
He currently practices through Soler Legal LLC and handles intellectual property, entertainment, media and sports matters across New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.
