About Albert Ian
Albert Ian Morse studied literature and ideas before he turned to law. He earned a B.A. in English and Philosophy from the State University of New York at Albany in 2012. Four years later he completed his J.D. at Charleston School of Law. Those early academic choices left him comfortable with long briefs and close reading of complex texts.
He began practicing after law school and now handles matters in New York and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. His court work includes federal filings and appellate practice in the Second Circuit, and he is admitted in New York. He belongs to the State Bar of New York and the New York State Bar Association, both since 2021, and joined the Eastern District of New York membership in 2022.
In 2021 he formed The Law Offices of Albert Ian Morse, PLLC and took the title of managing partner. That same year he began serving as village lawyer for the Village of Ellenville. The two roles track a common pattern: private practice alongside municipal service. As a village lawyer he advises local officials on governance, ordinances and municipal procedure. At his firm he oversees case work, client counseling and the administrative side of running a small practice.
Colleagues and clients note that Morse’s undergraduate background informs how he approaches legal problems. He tends to break issues down into their component parts and to emphasize written argument. That style carries over to appellate matters and to drafting municipal documents. He also handles litigation and transactional work that arises in a general civil practice.
Morse keeps active in professional organizations. He is a member of the State Bar of New York and the New York State Bar Association, both memberships begun in 2021. His association with the Eastern District of New York began in 2022. Those memberships give him ongoing exposure to developments in federal and state law and a network of peers in the region.
He runs his practice from The Law Offices of Albert Ian Morse, PLLC, where he manages client work and the firm’s operations. He concentrates his practice on matters arising under New York law and on federal matters before the Second Circuit.
