About Albert Glen Bilbrey
Albert Glen Bilbrey Jr. earned his law degree from the Charleston School of Law, completing his J.D. in 2018 after beginning studies in 2015. He arrived in the courtroom with academic training grounded in the regional legal culture of South Carolina and an understanding of federal procedure. Those years in law school set the stage for a practice that has moved between state and federal forums.
After law school, Bilbrey began practicing at Cooper & Bilbrey, P.C., where he worked as a lawyer on matters that involved litigation and client counsel. That experience placed him in front of judges and opposing counsel in both state and federal settings. He added admissions to the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina and to the United States Court of Federal Claims, alongside his South Carolina bar standing. Those credentials allowed him to handle a range of disputes extending beyond purely local matters.
Colleagues describe his approach as pragmatic. He writes clearly and prefers to let filings and oral argument speak for the case. His courtroom activity reflects steady attention to procedure. That practical bent informs how he prepares clients for hearings and manages file work. He also maintains at least one current professional association membership, participating in the networks that keep lawyers updated on changes in court rules and case law.
Bilbrey’s practice history shows an emphasis on litigation practice across jurisdictions. He has filed and defended claims in the South Carolina courts and pursued matters under the jurisdiction of federal trial forums. Admission to the Court of Federal Claims gives him a platform for handling claims that reach the national level, while his district court admission lets him pursue federal civil litigation closer to home.
Today he practices through Bilbrey & Cooper, P.C., where he continues the litigation work that defined his early career. He handles matters that require appearances in state and federal courts and advises clients on procedural and substantive elements of their cases. His work involves courtroom representation, drafting pleadings and motions, and managing case strategy for clients facing disputes in South Carolina and before the United States Court of Federal Claims.
He currently practices at Bilbrey & Cooper, P.C., handling litigation matters in South Carolina and in federal trial courts.
