About Al
Al Rowland earned his J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2010. He also holds an M.B.A. and a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo College. That combination of legal training and business education shapes the way he approaches cases and runs a small practice.
He began practicing law in 2015. That year he worked at The Edgett Law Office and also established his own practice, listed as Law Offices of Al Rowland, PLLC. Those early years mixed private defense work and the practical demands of building a client roster.
In 2020 he moved into a public role as a Deputy District Lawyer in the 1st Judicial District. The position placed him inside the courthouse on behalf of the district. It added courtroom experience and an understanding of how prosecutors and defense counsel manage cases at every stage.
Rowland is licensed to practice in Colorado and Texas. His memberships reflect an emphasis on criminal defense and impaired-driving matters. He holds memberships in the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar and the Collin County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association Public and Legal Services section. Since 2018 he has been a member of the National College for DUI Defense, and he has belonged to DUIDLA since 2015. He also maintains membership in Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers, a relationship that dates to 2015.
His casework has centered on criminal defense, including DUI and drug-impaired driving cases. The combination of prosecutorial experience and private practice informs his courtroom strategy. He draws on trial experience developed in both state systems.
Rowland continues to operate his practice under the Law Office of Al Rowland, PLLC. He splits his time between litigation and client counseling, handling contested hearings as well as pretrial negotiations. His current practice focuses on criminal defense, including DUI and DUID matters.
