About Aisha
Aisha Williams built a path from business school into the law. She earned a B.A. in International Business, with a minor in Spanish and Portuguese, from San Diego State University in 2003. She later completed a J.D. at the University of San Diego, graduating in 2012.
Her early career was rooted in the private sector. She began at Qualcomm as a marketing intern in 2000 and moved into a marketing analyst role in 2003. Over the next decade she advanced through senior marketing and licensing analyst positions, including Senior Marketing Analyst in 2007 and Senior IP Licensing Analyst in 2008. Those roles placed her at the junction of product strategy and commercial agreements.
After law school she shifted fully into legal work at Qualcomm. She served as a Legal Analyst in 2012, became an Associate Lawyer in 2013, and later a Senior Associate Lawyer in 2017. Her time there combined technical business knowledge with legal responsibilities, and she handled matters that tied corporate objectives to contractual and intellectual property issues.
In 2019 she left in-house practice to open her own firm. She is the Principal Lawyer and CEO of the Law Office of Aisha M. Williams, APC, a practice she founded that year. She also took an Of Counsel role at Plant & Planet Law Office beginning in 2019. Those moves shifted her day-to-day work from a single corporate client's needs to representing a broader set of business and technology clients.
Williams maintains active ties to the legal and business communities in San Diego County. She joined the San Diego County Bar Association in 2023 and is a member of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce as of 2024. She also holds memberships in Provisors, the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau, all beginning in 2022. Her memberships reflect ongoing engagement with local civic and professional networks and with groups that intersect law and commerce.
Colleagues describe her practice as grounded in transactional work and licensing matters, rooted in the years she spent at a major technology company handling IP and commercial agreements. She blends that corporate background with law firm practice and advisory work for smaller businesses. She now leads the Law Office of Aisha M. Williams, APC, where her practice concentrates on intellectual property licensing and business law matters.
