About Ahson B.
Ahson B. Wali earned his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2011 after completing a B.S. in Political Science and History at the University of Houston in 2006. His time in law school included practical work at the Environmental Law Clinic and research assistance for a faculty member. Those early experiences gave him a taste for hands-on legal work and public service.
He began his legal career in Colorado. While still in law school he served as a certified legal intern and later joined the Colorado State Public Defender’s office as a deputy public defender in 2011. In that role he handled trial-level matters and learned courtroom procedure through steady casework. The public defender post shaped his approach to client advocacy and trial preparation.
Wali moved into private practice a few years later and has worked in several small firms and partnerships. He was a partner at Vedra Wali LLC in 2013 and helped form Wali Elinoff LLC in 2017, where he served as lawyer and partner. In 2018 he established Wali Law PLLC. More recently he has been associated with The Hadi Law Office PLLC in 2023. Earlier in his career he also spent time organizing labor with the SEIU and the Houston Organization of Public Employees, experience that informs his work with individual clients and community groups.
He is admitted to practice in Colorado and Texas and has litigation privileges before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He holds membership in the National Association of Consumer Advocates. Those credentials reflect a practice that mixes civil litigation and advocacy for individual claimants alongside criminal defense work derived from his public defender background.
Wali runs a small practice that combines courtroom work and client counseling. He handles consumer-related claims and criminal matters and represents individuals in state and federal proceedings. He maintains an office at Wali Law PLLC and continues to take litigation matters in the jurisdictions where he is admitted. His current practice focuses on consumer advocacy and criminal defense matters.
