About Adam
Adam Pearlman built a legal career that crosses both sides of the courtroom. He studied business as an undergraduate and then turned to law. The mix of business training and courtroom work shapes how he approaches cases.
He earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California in 1990. He then attended The George Washington University Law School, receiving his J.D. in 1993. Those years in Washington, D.C., put him in the vicinity of federal courts and a heavy docket culture. He returned to California to begin practicing.
Pearlman began public service early in his career. In 1994 he joined the Ventura County District Lawyer's Office as a Senior Deputy District Lawyer. That role put him in regular contact with prosecutors, victims, witnesses and police officers. He handled courtroom appearances and pretrial proceedings. The experience offered a practical grounding in case preparation and trial procedure.
In 2004 he left the county office and started a private practice under his own name. The Law Offices of Adam L. Pearlman became the vehicle for his work as a criminal defense lawyer. Working as a defense attorney changed the vantage point. He moved from prosecuting and preparing cases for trial to representing individuals facing criminal charges. The shift deepened his familiarity with both sides of the criminal justice process.
Over the years Pearlman has represented clients in state courts across California. His practice has involved pretrial negotiations, arraignments, motions and jury trials. He has handled matters ranging from lower-level offenses to more serious criminal charges. The transition from public prosecutor to defense counsel is a recurring theme in his career profile. It informs how he evaluates evidence, advice and strategy.
Outside the courtroom he draws on his undergraduate business education when managing case logistics and a small practice. Running a solo or small firm requires attention to billing, calendaring and client communication. Pearlman’s background allows him to balance legal work with the practical demands of managing a law office.
Today he practices criminal defense in California through the Law Offices of Adam L. Pearlman. His work continues to center on representing individuals in state criminal matters.
