About Adam
Adam Futrell grew up tied to the Kentucky-Tennessee corridor and followed a conventional path into law. He completed undergraduate studies at Murray State University and earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. Those years established ties to both states that appear throughout his career.
He began practicing after law school and worked as an associate at Bass, Berry & Sims in 2006. That early period placed him in a large-firm environment where he handled matters alongside teams of litigators and transactional lawyers. In 2011 he moved into public service as an Assistant Lawyer General at the Tennessee Lawyer General's Office. The shift gave him experience on the government side of legal work and exposed him to the procedural and policy questions that public offices face.
In 2013 he left government and opened The Law Office of Adam Futrell. He has led the small firm since then. Over time he secured admission to practice in three states: Kentucky, Illinois and Tennessee. Those licenses allowed him to take on clients and cases that cross state lines and to build a practice rooted in the region where he trained and worked.
His professional life has included roles in bar and public service organizations. He served on the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights from 2017 through 2020. He also served as president of the McCracken County Bar Association from 2018 to 2019, a role that involved organizing local bar activities and representing the association in county-level discussions. Those positions reflect steady involvement in civic and legal institutions rather than a single public-facing specialty.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in how he approaches file preparation and court work. He has experience in both private practice and government representation, and he has managed the business side of a small firm for more than a decade. He has maintained bar admissions in multiple jurisdictions while overseeing the office he founded.
He now practices from The Law Office of Adam Futrell and represents clients in Kentucky, Illinois and Tennessee.
