About Adam

Adam Brown trained first as a nurse and biologist before turning to law. He earned a B.S. in Nursing and Biology from Tennessee Wesleyan College in 2006. He returned to school for a law degree and received his J.D. from Mercer University in 2013.

Brown began his legal career while still in law school when he served as a law clerk in 2011 at the United States Lawyer's Office. After earning his J.D., he took a post as an assistant public defender at the Paulding Public Defender's Office in 2013. That role placed him in regular court settings defending people who could not afford private counsel and gave him early experience handling courtroom procedures and client advocacy.

In 2016 Brown moved into private practice as an associate with Chestney & Sullivan. He spent those years building trial and litigation experience in state courts. Two years later he opened his own practice and has been the principal of the Law Office of Adam D. Brown since 2018. Operating his own office allowed him to set his caseload and the manner in which he delivers legal representation.

Brown is licensed to practice in Georgia. Over the years he has joined several professional groups connected to criminal defense and DUI law. His memberships include the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers as a sustaining member since 2014 and the National College of DUI Defense since 2014. He is also a member of the Defense of Drinking Drivers Institute and has belonged to both the Gwinnett County Bar Association and the Cobb County Bar Association since 2016.

Those affiliations track with the kinds of matters that have shaped Brown’s work. He works primarily on criminal defense matters, including cases that involve driving under the influence and related traffic offenses. His earlier training in nursing and biology sometimes informs how he approaches case evidence and medical- or science-related issues that arise in court.

Colleagues and clients who have worked with him point to a straightforward approach in court and an emphasis on the practical aspects of case resolution. He has experience across public defense and private practice, and he has continued professional involvement through local and national defense organizations.

Brown continues to operate his firm, where he concentrates on criminal defense and DUI-related matters in Georgia.
