About Adam
Adam Banks trained first as a student of public policy and law. He earned a B.A. in Public Policy from Duke University before completing a J.D. at Campbell Law School. Those years shaped his interest in courtroom work and public-service law.
After law school he joined the North Carolina National Guard JAG Corps in 2014 as a Lawyer in Trial Defense Services. In that role he provided defense representation for service members at trial and in related proceedings. The position put him in courtrooms early in his career and gave him hands-on experience in trial preparation, witness examination and case strategy.
In 2015 he became a partner at Felton Banks, PLLC. As a partner he took on a mix of trial assignments and case management duties. He handles litigation, directs motion practice, and prepares witnesses for hearing. Colleagues describe his work as steady and focused; clients see him as a lawyer who prefers clear courtroom advocacy to extended negotiation.
Banks is admitted to practice in North Carolina. His background in the JAG Corps and his subsequent private-practice work have shaped a practice centered on trial defense and litigation. He brings an understanding of procedural rules and courtroom pacing that comes from active trial work rather than office-bound research. That experience informs how he evaluates cases, frames defenses and sets expectations with clients.
At Felton Banks, PLLC he continues to try cases and pursue contested matters in state courts. He is involved in client counseling and pretrial strategy as well as in-court advocacy.
