About Abby
Abby Marshall earned her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2020 after completing a B.A. at the University of Iowa in 2015. She entered law school at a time when courtroom practice and client advocacy were drawing increased attention; those interests shaped much of her academic focus. Her legal education included coursework and clinical experiences that exposed her to litigation and trial procedure.
After graduating, Marshall moved into firm practice. She is an associate at Levin & Perconti, where she joined the team to build hands-on experience in client representation. As an associate, she handles case preparation, discovery, and motion practice, often working alongside more senior trial lawyers on complex matters. Colleagues describe her as methodical in courtroom preparation and attentive to the practical needs of clients.
Marshall has stayed active in the professional community. She holds memberships in the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Women’s Bar Association. Those affiliations provide regular opportunities for continuing legal education and peer discussion. She appears at association events and contributes to working groups that address procedural and trial issues.
Her practice has a procedural and advocacy emphasis that aligns with trial work. She spends significant time drafting pleadings and briefs, coordinating depositions and preparing exhibits for hearings. The day-to-day work requires a mix of legal research, file management and client communication. Marshall applies those skills in state court matters and in pretrial contexts.
Marshall is licensed to practice in Illinois and continues to develop her courtroom experience through trials, pretrial advocacy and motions practice. She mentors newer associates at the firm and participates in internal training on litigation strategy. Outside the office, she remains involved in local bar programs and legal education initiatives.
She currently practices law in Illinois as an associate at Levin & Perconti, concentrating on trial advocacy and client representation.
