About Aaron T.
Aaron T. Troy began his path to the law in Urbana-Champaign. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2006. He then went on to Loyola University Chicago School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctor in 2009. Those years in the Midwest shaped both his legal training and his early professional network.
Troy’s first legal roles came in-house at Navistar Inc. He served as a law clerk in the company’s Office of the General Counsel in 2008, then returned to that office in 2009 as a contract lawyer. Those positions placed him inside a corporate legal department during a formative period. He worked alongside full-time counsel and gained firsthand exposure to how business decisions and legal strategy intersect within an industrial manufacturer.
In 2010 Troy moved into private practice as an associate at Rolewick & Gutzke, P.C. He joined a practice where he could apply the skills he had developed in-house. Over time he has taken on the kinds of tasks typical for an associate lawyer, including client counseling, legal research, drafting, and case preparation. His career path shows a steady shift from internal corporate work to sustained engagement in a law firm environment.
Troy maintains active professional connections across the Illinois legal community. He holds memberships in the Illinois State Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association. He is also affiliated with the Loyola University Chicago Low-Income Tax Clinic, a relationship that dates back to 2009. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and is authorized to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Colleagues describe Troy as practical in his approach. He tends to favor clear analysis and careful preparation over rhetoric. He has spent years moving between the corporate and private sectors, and that background informs how he assesses matters for clients. He practices at Rolewick & Gutzke, P.C., where his current work centers on matters that draw on both his in-house experience and his law firm practice.
