About Aaron

Aaron Gaddis built his legal foundation in Colorado. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Colorado State University in 2002 and completed his J.D. at the University of Denver in 2006. Those years set the stage for a career rooted in public defense and criminal law.

Immediately after law school, he joined the Colorado State Public Defender as a deputy state public defender. He spent his early years in court, representing clients facing felony and misdemeanor charges. The public defender’s office is often a crucible for courtroom skills. For Gaddis it provided steady trial exposure and a rigorous caseload early on.

In 2013 he moved into private practice as a criminal defense associate at Black and Graham, PC. There he handled arraignments, pretrial motions, plea negotiations and trials. The move gave him experience on both sides of criminal litigation in Colorado’s courts and deepened his familiarity with local procedures and judges.

In 2019 he opened Gaddis Law, LLC. The firm reflects his transition from institutional practice to running a smaller, independent practice. He represents people charged with crimes at all stages of the process. His background includes trial work at the state level and handling post-conviction matters when appropriate. Clients and colleagues describe him as steady in court and thorough in preparation.

Outside of casework he participates in professional associations that connect him to peers and continuing education. He is active in the Colorado Bar Association Public and Legal Services section, the El Paso County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Those memberships keep him engaged with developments in criminal law and practice issues that affect indigent defense and private practitioners.

Gaddis is licensed to practice in Colorado and has spent his career working in state courts. He balances courtroom appearances with case preparation, research and client counseling. He has handled trials, pretrial litigation and appeals arising from criminal convictions.

He continues to lead Gaddis Law, LLC, where he represents individuals charged with criminal offenses and handles related post-conviction matters. His current practice focuses on criminal defense and trial representation in Colorado state courts.
