About Zachary A.

Zachary A. Kitts is a founding partner at K&G Law Group, PLLC, a boutique law firm located in Fairfax, Virginia. Since its establishment, the firm has focused on providing specialized legal services in various areas, including qui tam litigation, business torts, employment law, and complex civil litigation. Zach’s expertise in qui tam litigation is particularly noteworthy—he exclusively represents relators (whistleblowers) under the federal False Claims Act and various state false claims statutes. His efforts have resulted in the recovery of more than $118 million for federal, state, and local governments, underscoring his commitment to combating fraud. In addition to his qui tam practice, Zach is recognized as a leading authority on the Virginia Fraud Against Taxpayers Act (Va.

Code §8.01-216.1 et seq.). He played a pivotal role as the principal architect of the comprehensive amendments made to this statute in 2011. His knowledge and advocacy have led him to testify before numerous state legislatures, where he has consistently supported the enactment of state false claims legislation. This involvement has not only shaped the legal field in Virginia but also positioned him as a key figure in the fight against fraudulent practices. Zach’s employment law practice is equally diverse, representing both employers and employees across many issues. These include wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, non-competition agreements, discrimination, and retaliation.

His balanced approach allows him to navigate complex legal challenges effectively, ensuring that his clients receive the best possible representation. His dual perspective—understanding the needs of both sides—enhances his ability to resolve disputes amicably when possible. Educationally, Zach laid the foundation for his legal career by earning a Bachelor of Arts from George Mason University in 1998, followed by a Juris Doctor from American University’s Washington College of Law in 2001. His academic achievements have translated into a successful legal practice, and he is admitted to practice in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. Since 2011, he has been consistently recognized in both the Washington, D.C. and Virginia editions of Super Lawyers magazine.

Furthermore, he has been included in Best Lawyers in America every year since 2015, highlighting his standing in the legal community. Beyond his practice, Zach is actively engaged in the legal profession. He participates in various bar associations and is a regular speaker at Continuing Legal Education courses throughout Virginia. Several of these programs have gained national syndication, reflecting his expertise and influence. Currently, he serves on the faculty of Virginia's Harry Carrico Professionalism Course, which is mandatory for all new lawyers in the state. Additionally, he is a member of the Virginia State Bar's Standing Committee on Professionalism, contributing to the ongoing development of legal standards in Virginia.
