About Yvonne Franco
Yvonne Franco Perez earned her J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law in 2015 after completing graduate and undergraduate studies at Idaho State University. She received an M.P.A. in 2009 and a B.S. in political science in 2007. Those years shaped her interest in public policy and the practical mechanics of government systems. Law school followed naturally.
She began building legal experience while still a student. In 2014 she served as a legal intern at Salazar Law, PLLC, and in 2015 she took a legal extern position with Andrade Legal. Those placements exposed her to client work and courtroom procedure. After passing into private practice she joined Salazar Law as an associate in 2016. The associate role gave her day-to-day casework and client counseling responsibilities.
In 2020 Perez launched her own firm, Franco Legal, PLLC, operating as a solo immigration law practitioner in Idaho. Running a solo practice shifted responsibilities. She moved from being one of several attorneys on a file to managing intake, case strategy and court filings herself. The change also meant handling the business side of a law office, from billing to client intake systems.
Her professional affiliations include membership in the American Immigration Lawyers Association, a connection she has maintained since 2016. Perez is admitted to practice in North Dakota. She represents individuals rather than corporations. That orientation shapes how she staffs matters and how she approaches settlement and hearing strategy.
Perez’s practice centers on immigration law. She handles petitions, administrative applications and court hearings for clients navigating the immigration system. Her cases involve interviews with clients, preparation of forms and evidence, and appearances before agencies and tribunals. She has worked on cases that require both procedural attention and responsive client communication, and she structures files to keep clients informed at each step.
Colleagues and clients often note that she runs a small operation that emphasizes accessibility and hands-on management of cases. The solo model lets her control turnaround times and maintain direct attorney-to-client contact on the files she accepts. Her work combines technical knowledge of immigration procedure with day-to-day client service.
She currently practices immigration law at Franco Legal, PLLC in Idaho.
