Yvonne Annette Ascher is a seasoned estate planning attorney based in Monterey, California — Practicing law since 1985, she has dedicated her career to estate planning and tax law. Ascher earned her Juris Doctor from the Monterey College of Law in 1985, laying a strong foundation for her legal career. She furthered her education with a Master of Laws in Taxation from Golden Gate University in 1991, graduating with highest honors. This advanced degree gave her specialized knowledge that benefits her clients in navigating complex tax issues related to estates and trusts. In addition to her practice, Ms. Ascher has made significant contributions to the legal community. In 2011, she was elected to the California Trusts & Estates Executive Committee (TEXCOM), which advises the California Legislature on matters pertaining to trusts and estates. Her leadership was recognized when she served as chair from 2018 to 2019.
In 2013, she achieved the distinction of being admitted to the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), becoming the only attorney in Monterey County to hold this honor. She was the founding president of the Monterey County Youth Museum (MY Museum), fostering educational opportunities for local children. Residing in Monterey with her husband, Ms. Ascher is the proud mother of two grown sons. In her leisure time, she enjoys hiking and cycling, both locally and in various parts of the world.
