About Yvette
Yvette Everhart graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2003 and earned her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 2006. Her academic record set a clear path into labor and employment work at an early stage. She moved from law school into private practice in Florida and established a foothold in the state’s employment law community.
She joined Sass Law Office as a shareholder in 2007. That position placed her squarely in the practice of employment law and connected her to a network of colleagues across Florida. Over time she built experience in the courtroom and at agency proceedings, and she became a regular presence at local and statewide professional events.
In 2017 The Florida Bar recognized Everhart as Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law. That certification reflects a standing in the specialty that her peers and the bar acknowledge. Certification has shaped the kinds of cases she accepts and the professional roles she pursues.
Everhart’s résumé includes sustained involvement in professional associations. She has been active in the Florida Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association since 2007 and held leadership roles there, serving as vice president of programming in 2010–2011, president-elect in 2011–2012 and president in 2012–2013. Within The Florida Bar she has been a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section since 2007 and has served on several of its committees. Her roles have included membership on the Communications Committee beginning in 2016 and the Executive Council since 2017. She co-chaired the Website Subcommittee for the section’s Communications Committee starting in 2017 and took on duties as Legal Education Director for the section in 2021–2022. In 2022 she became Secretary/Treasurer of the section and serves in that role currently.
Her work with the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section includes service on the Treatise Committee, where she was appointed vice chair in 2021 and later named employee co-chair in 2022. She is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and has participated on continuing legal education committees for The Florida Bar since 2021. Those committee roles have kept her engaged in curriculum development and program planning for employment law topics.
She remains a shareholder at Sass Law Office in Florida. Her current practice focuses on labor and employment law.
