About Ysabel

Ysabel Lonazco built her legal foundation across two continents. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Law and Political Science from the University Inca Garcilaso de la Vega in 2010, then pursued graduate study at Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School, receiving an LL.M. in Comparative Law in 2018. Those credentials shape the way she approaches legal problems.

Her year at BYU deepened a practical interest in how different legal systems address similar problems. Coursework in comparative law exposed her to varied doctrinal approaches and procedural differences. She trained in legal research and analysis through classes that compared statutes, case law, and administrative practice across jurisdictions.

The earlier degree in law and political science provided a broader context. At the University Inca Garcilaso de la Vega she completed foundational courses in civil law, constitutional principles, and the intersections between law and public policy. That background informed her graduate study and later work in private practice.

Lonazco established the Law Office of Ysabel Lonazco to house her practice. She has worked in private settings and created a small firm structure intended to allow close client contact and tailored legal work. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical; she favors careful review of statutory texts and precedent before advising clients.

Her comparative law training figures into the kinds of matters she accepts. She pays attention to differences in legal doctrine and procedure when those differences affect a client's position. That can mean parsing foreign law materials, drafting documents that must align with more than one system, or advising on legal strategy where cross-border elements are present. Her work involves research, drafting, and client counseling rather than public office or academic appointments.

Outside the office she maintains current memberships in professional associations. She continues to refine her practice through continuing education tied to comparative legal issues. She leads the Law Office of Ysabel Lonazco, where she focuses her practice on matters informed by comparative law.
