About Young

Young Ham graduated from Northwestern University School of Law in 2014. He completed a rigorous curriculum that included courses in federal and state procedure, and he left law school ready to practice in complex legal settings. The year on his diploma is a constant marker in his career timeline. Since then he has built a steady professional path that bridges private practice and civic engagement.

After law school Ham moved into practice in the Chicago area and later expanded his professional reach to the District of Columbia. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and in the District of Columbia. Over the years he has worked on matters that required familiarity with both local regulations and federal rules. Those dual admissions have shaped how he approaches cases and client work.

Outside the office Ham serves on nonprofit boards. He is a director of the OCKABA Foundation, a role that puts him in contact with community leaders and nonprofit funders. That board work has involved governance responsibilities and strategic discussions about programming and stewardship. He has described those experiences as a complement to his legal work, where understanding organizational structure and accountability can matter as much as legal doctrine.

Ham's career has included roles inside small firms and in solo practice settings. Today he is part of Sky Law Office, P.C., where he is engaged in the daily practice of law. Colleagues say he brings a practical, detail-oriented approach to client matters. He tends to favor clear lines of communication and straightforward legal analysis, and he expects the same from others on his team.

His practice reflects the jurisdictions in which he is licensed. He handles matters that arise under Illinois law and those that fall within the District of Columbia's statutory and regulatory landscape. The work requires staying current on developments in both places and adapting strategies to different court procedures and administrative processes. He balances casework with ongoing pro bono and nonprofit commitments.

Clients and peers describe him as methodical in his preparation and deliberate in explaining options. He continues to take an active part in legal and civic circles while maintaining a caseload at Sky Law Office, P.C. He currently practices law in matters governed by Illinois and District of Columbia law.
