About Yesenia
Yesenia Tovar built a practical foundation before she entered law school. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Texas Woman’s University in 2014 and completed a paralegal certification at El Centro College. That combination of undergraduate study and paralegal training preceded her law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law, which she received in 2019.
Her education set a clear trajectory. After graduating from Golden Gate, she returned to Texas to practice. She is admitted to the bar in Texas and maintains active membership in the State Bar of Texas. Those credentials underpin the work she does day to day as an associate attorney at Modern Law Group, P.C.
At Modern Law Group, P.C., Tovar handles a variety of responsibilities common to associate lawyers. She prepares pleadings and motions, conducts legal research, and manages client communications. She also participates in case preparation and courtroom proceedings when matters proceed to litigation. Colleagues describe her as methodical in gathering facts and attentive when explaining legal options to clients.
Her paralegal background informs how she approaches cases. That prior training contributes to an emphasis on organization, file management, and clear drafting. It also gives her practical insight into how to streamline work for clients and for supervising attorneys. During law school she sharpened those practical skills while developing a firmer grounding in substantive law.
Tovar’s pathway is one often taken by lawyers who begin in support roles and move into advocacy. She combined local undergraduate study, vocational paralegal training, and a J.D. earned out of state. Returning to Texas to practice allowed her to apply that mixed experience to representation in state matters. She keeps current with the rules and obligations of the State Bar of Texas and draws on the firm’s resources for cases that require collaboration.
Her day-to-day practice reflects steady application of the skills she accumulated over time. She works as part of a team at Modern Law Group, P.C., where she contributes to case strategy, client counseling, and court filings. Her current practice focuses on representing clients in matters in Texas.
