About Yasmin
Yasmin Torres-Sotero built a legal path that moves between courtrooms and corporate boardrooms. She earned her J.D. from the University of Puerto Rico – Río Piedras, entering law school in 2004 and graduating in 2007. She then pursued advanced studies at IE Law School, completing an LL.M. in 2010 after work on the Corporate Legal Advisory and MBA module in 2009.
Early in her career she gained front-line exposure to appellate work. In 2006 she served as an intern at the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. The following year she clerked for the Court of Appeals of Puerto Rico, a post that placed her inside the appellate decision-making process and familiarized her with briefing and opinion drafting.
After her clerkship she moved into private practice. By 2011 she was an associate handling general corporate and corporate finance matters at Martínez, Odell & Calabria. There she worked on transactional files and supported financing deals, taking assignments that required due diligence, document preparation and coordination with clients and lenders.
Her professional record shows experience across both public institutions and private firms. The mix of appellate clerking and transactional work gives her a practical perspective on how litigation risk and corporate compliance intersect. She is admitted in Puerto Rico and appears before the 1st Circuit, which informs how she approaches matters that may involve federal appellate considerations.
Today she practices from TS LAW OFFICE. Her approach to client work is direct. She prepares corporate documents, advises on financing arrangements and manages procedural aspects when issues touch the appellate level. Colleagues and clients see someone who moves between technical legal tasks and straightforward client communication.
Outside case files she has kept ties to the legal community through professional memberships. Her background in both local courts and cross-border academic study has shaped how she evaluates contracts and corporate governance. She currently practices at TS LAW OFFICE, handling corporate matters in Puerto Rico and the 1st Circuit.
