William Wright was a personal injury attorney based in Garden City, Kansas — He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1984. After passing the Kansas Bar Exam, he began his legal career in Scott City, Kansas, before expanding his practice to Garden City. His office was located just south of the Main Court House — In 2003, Wright faced legal challenges that led to his disbarment. He was convicted of four counts of felony theft and one count of perjury in Shawnee County District Court.
He served approximately 10 months in prison before being released in January 2006. The Kansas Supreme Court revoked his license to practice law in September 2003 due to these convictions.
