About William T.
William T. Harrington built a legal career that moves between the courthouse and the private office. He began his academic path in Boston, earning a Bachelor of Arts in History from Boston College in 1985 and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 1990. Those years set the stage for courtroom work and a steady climb through Massachusetts legal institutions.
Early in his career Harrington served as a judicial law clerk to the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts in 1993. The clerkship offered a close look at appellate decision-making and legal research at the state’s highest court. He entered private practice soon after, joining Hanify & King, P.C. as an associate in 1994. That period bridged academic training and hands-on litigation experience.
Harrington spent several years as an assistant district attorney in the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office in 1998. The prosecutorial role gave him direct trial experience and frequent courtroom appearances. He returned to private practice at Ferriter, Scobbo & Rodophele, P.C. as an associate in 2000, then moved into partnership two years later at Glynn, Landry, Harrington & Rice, LLP in 2002. In 2008 he established the Law Office of William T. Harrington, where he has practiced as a partner since.
Over the years Harrington has maintained memberships in professional organizations that reflect the practical side of litigation. He has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association since 1994 and joined the Defense Research Institute in 2014. Those affiliations indicate ongoing involvement in the legal community and access to peer resources and continuing legal education.
His background includes roles on both sides of the courtroom line. After serving as an ADA, he spent many years in private practice handling matters that brought him into Massachusetts state courts and, at times, into federal court practice within the First Circuit. Colleagues and clients have known him for steady courtroom presence and a procedural grasp developed through clerkship, prosecutorial duties, and years as an associate and partner.
As of 2026 Harrington continues to practice from the Law Office of William T. Harrington, representing clients in matters before Massachusetts courts and in the federal courts of the First Circuit. His current practice centers on litigation in those jurisdictions.
