About William
William Saunders earned his law degree from Stanford University Law School in 1983 after completing a bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Hawaii in 1978. His academic path combined mainland legal training with deep local roots in Hawaii. The two schools set the stage for a long professional life practiced largely in the islands.
Saunders began his legal career after law school and by 1989 he had taken on the role of Of Counsel at Bickerton Law Group LLLP. He has maintained that association for decades. His practice has involved appearances in both state and federal venues, and his professional standing includes admission to practice before the courts of Hawaii, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii.
Over the years Saunders has remained active in the local bar. He holds current membership in the Hawaii State Bar Association. That affiliation has kept him connected to developments in state rules and local legal practice.
