About William

William Plevy built his legal foundation at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. He graduated prepared for practice and entered a legal career that spans multiple jurisdictions. Early on he established a pattern of broad licensure, gaining the ability to appear in New York, the District of Columbia and California. That geographic reach shapes the cases he takes and the clients he serves.

His career centers on his work at Plevy Law. He practices as a lawyer there and has done so for a number of years. The firm serves clients whose matters cross state lines and sometimes federal boundaries. Plevy’s courtroom and transactional work reflect the variety of rules and procedures across the three bars where he is licensed.

Plevy has been active in bar and professional organizations for much of his career. He has held professional memberships since 2007, joined the District of Columbia Bar in 2008 and added another association in 2010. Those affiliations keep him connected to peers and to continuing legal education. They also place him in professional networks that reach beyond a single courtroom or courthouse.

His practice experience covers a range of matters that require navigation of differing state and federal standards. He appears before state regulatory bodies and at federal agencies when cases demand. He prepares pleadings, negotiates settlements and handles litigation where appropriate. Clients consult him about strategies that involve multi-jurisdictional issues, regulatory compliance and civil litigation.

Colleagues describe Plevy as thorough in document preparation and practical in courtroom work. He balances advocacy with attention to procedural detail. That approach shows in contested proceedings and in negotiated resolutions. When matters head to trial, he brings experience in litigation; when they can be resolved outside court, he pursues that path without sacrificing legal rigor.

Outside of client files, Plevy continues to participate in professional development and bar activities. He maintains memberships that reflect long-term engagement with the legal community. He updates his practice to reflect changes in the laws of New York, the District of Columbia and California.

He currently practices at Plevy Law, serving clients in New York, the District of Columbia and California and handling matters that range from regulatory issues to civil litigation.
