About William M.

William M. Ryan earned a Bachelor of Arts from Stonehill College in 1973, followed by a Master of Arts from Rhode Island College in 1977. He returned to formal study a decade later and received his J.D. from New England Law | Boston in 1988. Those milestones mark a steady academic course that preceded a long career in New England law.

After law school, Ryan moved into legal practice in the region. He became active in local bar organizations early on, joining the Worcester Bar Association in 1992 and the Rhode Island Bar Association in 1993. In 1998 he joined the Real Estate Bar Association (REBA), an affiliation that has continued into the present. These memberships reflect sustained engagement with the professional communities where he works.

Ryan is admitted to practice in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Over the years his work has involved matters commonly encountered in regional practice. He handles transactions and title work, and he participates in closings and contract matters related to property. Membership in REBA indicates regular involvement in real estate law and related procedural and transactional issues.

Those procedural and transactional elements form a through-line in his practice. He frequently deals with title examinations and the paperwork that accompanies property transfers. He also addresses disputes that arise out of those transactions when they reach a stage requiring formal resolution. His practice operates across municipal boundaries in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, reflecting the interstate nature of many New England real estate matters.

Ryan’s earlier academic work—his master’s degree in the mid-1970s followed by a legal degree a decade later—gave him a mixed background before he concentrated on legal practice. That path has informed how he approaches complex files: methodical document review, careful attention to chronology, and consistent reliance on professional associations for updates on rule changes and practice trends.

Colleagues and counterparties encounter a lawyer who has been part of the region’s bar landscape for decades. He maintains memberships in the Worcester Bar Association, the Rhode Island Bar Association, and REBA. He currently practices in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, handling real estate matters.
