William L. Huestis is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2006. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Huestis is the founder and managing attorney at W Legal PC, a law firm with offices in Newport Beach, Los Angeles, Riverside, Long Beach, Anaheim, and Gardena, California. He has been practicing law for over 19 years, serving clients throughout Southern California.
Mr. Huestis earned his Juris Doctor degree from Chapman University Fowler School of Law in 2006. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Westmont College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1998. During his time at Chapman University, he was awarded the Charles C. Chapman Dean's Scholarship, a full tuition scholarship, and later pursued a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation at the same institution, graduating in 2008.
Mr. Huestis concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, elder law, bankruptcy, and probate. He represents individuals and families in matters involving guardianship and conservatorship, estate administration, health care directives, trusts, and wills. His bankruptcy practice includes Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 cases, as well as debt relief services. Additionally, he handles probate administration, probate litigation, and will contests. His practice encompasses all stages of legal proceedings, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Huestis has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Orange, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding W Legal PC, he worked as an associate attorney at Lee Huestis APC from 2007 to 2013, gaining experience in various areas of law.
Mr. Huestis is an active member of the Orange County Asian American Bar Association and the California State Bar Association. He holds membership in the Orange County Bar Association, where he participates in the Bankruptcy, Elder Law, and Trusts & Estates Sections. He is also a member of WealthCounsel, a national organization of estate planning attorneys. Mr. Huestis has been involved in speaking engagements, including seminars on estate planning for organizations such as AETNA Employee Benefits and the Montebello Unified School District. He is fluent in English, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Southern California effectively.
