About William
William Kennedy trained first as an undergraduate at the University of Texas at Dallas, earning a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2003. He went on to law school at Oklahoma City University, where he received his J.D. He later gained admission to the State Bar of Texas in 2009 and is also admitted to practice in the Northern District of Texas and the Northern District of Texas Bankruptcy Court.
Early in his career Kennedy moved into trial work and courtroom practice. He joined bar and trial organizations that match those interests, including memberships in the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of national groups such as the American Association for Justice and the American Bar Association. Those affiliations reflect a professional life spent around litigation and courtroom procedure.
Kennedy established his own firm and now serves as managing partner of Bill Kennedy Law, PLLC. In that role he runs the daily operations of the practice while continuing to appear in court. Colleagues and clients encounter him on matters in Texas state courts and in federal court in the Northern District of Texas, where he holds admission. He also maintains admission to the bankruptcy court for the same federal district.
Over the years Kennedy has balanced casework and firm management. He has kept active in local professional circles, including the Dallas Young Lawyers Association earlier in his career and ongoing participation in the State Bar of Texas. Those memberships have kept him current on procedural developments and local practice trends.
Kennedy’s work is anchored in courtroom representation and managing a small law firm. He handles filings, appearances and the business tasks that keep a litigation practice functioning. He currently practices at Bill Kennedy Law, PLLC, handling matters in Texas state and federal courts where he is admitted.
