About William James
William James Loyd built his legal foundation in the classroom and on the street. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Business Economics from the State University of New York at Albany in 2000, then went on to receive a Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law in 2005. Those credentials placed him on a familiar path for many lawyers: rigorous study followed by the pressures of practice.
Loyd moved into the New York legal market after law school. He is licensed to practice in New York and has worked in environments where courtroom experience and client contact intersect. Colleagues describe him as matter-of-fact in court and steady with clients. He has handled contested matters, negotiated on behalf of people and entities, and participated in case preparation that ranges from filing pleadings to examining witnesses at deposition.
Early in his career, Loyd took on roles that developed litigation skills. He worked on case intake, crafted motions, and assisted in trial preparation. Over time those responsibilities expanded. He began to supervise parts of case development and to coordinate strategy with other counsel. The work required both attention to detail and an ability to make quick, pragmatic decisions when situations changed.
Loyd’s training shows through in how he approaches files. He balances legal research and factual investigation. He pays attention to procedural deadlines. He prepares witnesses for testimony and reviews documentary evidence with an eye toward its use at trial. Clients meet a lawyer who aims to explain tough legal concepts in plain language and to set realistic expectations about process and timing.
At Cellino Law, Loyd practices within a larger team of attorneys and support staff. The firm environment offers access to resources often required in complex matters, including investigators and expert consultants. Loyd’s role involves coordinating those resources, communicating with clients, and advancing cases through New York’s court system.
Outside of court filings and client meetings, Loyd keeps up with developments in applicable law and procedures. He draws on law school training and years of hands-on experience to manage day-to-day litigation demands. He is known for methodical preparation and for maintaining clear lines of communication with clients and opposing counsel.
He currently practices law at CELLINO LAW in New York, representing clients in matters before state courts and tribunals.
