About William Dale
William Dale Johnson trained first as a business student and later as a lawyer. He earned a B.A. in Business and Finance from Walsh College and then took his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law, graduating in 1994. Those academic choices helped shape a practice built around financial and consumer issues. He moved into practice during a period of significant change in consumer credit law.
Johnson was admitted to practice and joined the State Bar of Michigan and the federal bar in 1996. He maintains those memberships today. Early in his career he gravitated toward matters that touch ordinary households: debt, credit, and the legal mechanisms people use to resolve financial distress. Over time he built a steady practice that operates in both state and federal forums.
Professional associations have played a steady role in his work. He is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He also participates in a United Way task force, a role he has held since 2010, and his firm has been part of the Legal Shield program since 2006. Those affiliations keep him connected to colleagues who handle bankruptcy and consumer-credit issues and to local service efforts.
Much of Johnson’s day-to-day work involves consumer bankruptcy and creditor-debtor matters. He represents individuals in bankruptcy proceedings and handles related litigation and counseling. He regularly appears in federal bankruptcy courts and handles filings and negotiations that follow from personal insolvency. He spends time advising clients on options, preparing petitions, and resolving disputes that arise during the bankruptcy process.
Johnson practices under the Acclaim Legal Services name, including work carried out through Acclaim Legal Services PLLC. He has structured his practice to address the practical needs that people face when they confront mounting bills, collection activity, or the choice to pursue a formal bankruptcy filing. He remains active in professional organizations tied to bankruptcy law and in local charitable efforts. He currently practices consumer bankruptcy and creditor-debtor law at Acclaim Legal Services PLLC.
