About William D.

William D. Bishop graduated from the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in 1990. He earned his juris doctor that year and began building a career centered on family law soon after. His legal education in Phoenix set the stage for a long-standing practice in Arizona courts and family law circles.

Bishop serves as the managing partner of Bishop Law Office, P.C., where he combines casework and firm leadership. He has handled matters that arise in the family law calendar and oversees associates and staff at his firm. He holds the Certified Family Law Specialist credential from the State Bar of Arizona, a designation that reflects a specialized qualification in family law matters.

He has been active in professional groups that shape family law practice in Arizona. He is a current member of the State Bar of Arizona Family Law Section and a past chair of the Maricopa County Family Law Section. His memberships also include the Association of Family & Conciliation Courts and the Arizona Association of Family Law Lawyers. Those roles have kept him engaged with evolving case law and local procedure.

Bishop’s work focuses on family law disputes. He handles divorce proceedings, child custody and parenting time issues, child and spousal support matters, and related proceedings that commonly come before family courts. He appears in Arizona state courts and engages in the motions, hearings, and trials such cases require. He also works with clients on negotiation and settlement, and he prepares pleadings and court filings that follow statutory and local rules.

Over the years he has balanced courtroom practice with administrative duties at his firm. As managing partner he assigns cases, mentors newer lawyers, and works to keep the firm responsive to court deadlines and client needs. That combination of case-level work and management gives him steady involvement in both individual client matters and the business of running a law office.

He continues to practice in Arizona and maintains an active role in local family law organizations. His current practice focuses on family law matters in Arizona state courts.
