About William Alan
William Alan Buchanan built his legal foundation at the University of Georgia, earning a Bachelor of Arts in history in 2003. He stayed in the state to study law and received his Juris Doctor from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 2007. Those years shaped his approach to legal reasoning and the practical demands of practice in Georgia.
After law school Buchanan moved quickly into practice. He joined Buchanan & Land, LLP as an associate in 2007. He spent a decade at that firm. The time allowed him to handle an array of client matters and to develop courtroom and office experience. He worked alongside established practitioners and took on responsibilities that grew over the years.
In 2017 Buchanan left the associate role to start his own practice. He incorporated Bill Buchanan, LLC and remains the owner. Running a small firm shifted his daily routine. Case strategy, client intake and the administrative side of a practice became regular parts of his schedule. That shift also gave him greater control over how he manages client matters day-to-day.
Colleagues and clients familiar with his work describe Buchanan as methodical in approach and direct in communication. He tends to favor clear, practical explanations when discussing options and outcomes. Over time he has relied on the experience gained in a ten-year associate role to guide decisions in private practice.
Buchanan is licensed to practice in Georgia and has spent his career practicing there. The record shows a steady course from law school graduate to associate and now to firm owner. He continues to operate Bill Buchanan, LLC and handles the full range of responsibilities that come with running a solo practice.
He maintains an active practice through Bill Buchanan, LLC, serving clients and representing interests in matters arising under Georgia law.
