About Will
Will Ferguson began his academic journey at Wofford College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1968. He stayed in the Southeast for his undergraduate work and then moved west to Albuquerque to study law. He graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law with a J.D. in 1971.
After law school, Ferguson pursued admission to the New Mexico bar and became a member of the New Mexico State Bar in 1974. That membership has continued through the decades. Early in his career he combined courtroom work with the everyday demands of private practice. Over time he moved into firm leadership while keeping a presence in client matters.
In 1983 he took on the role of managing partner at Will Ferguson & Associates. He has overseen the firm’s operations and the work of other attorneys while maintaining his own caseload. The managing partner post has been a steady anchor in his professional life since that year.
Ferguson has also remained active in professional groups. His name appears on the rolls of the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association since 1971, and he holds membership in the American Justice Association. Those memberships sit alongside his long-standing association with the New Mexico State Bar. They reflect a career spent participating in professional networks as well as in practice.
Colleagues describe Ferguson as a lawyer who values steady judgment and practical problem solving. He has balanced law practice and firm management over many years. That balance has shaped the kind of work the firm takes on and how it serves clients in New Mexico.
Throughout his career Ferguson has worked in private practice in the state. He continues to lead Will Ferguson & Associates and to practice law in New Mexico. He currently practices at Will Ferguson & Associates in New Mexico.
