About Wilda L.

Wilda L. White built a professional path that moves from liberal arts to law and then to business school. The sequence of degrees tracks a broadening of perspective: a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies from the University of Vermont in 1980, a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1983, and an M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1992.

Her academic record runs across institutions and disciplines. At Vermont she studied cultures and languages in the Americas. Berkeley Law provided the legal training she used to begin a career in the early 1980s. A decade later she returned to school for an M.B.A., adding formal business training to her legal credentials.

Professionally, White’s career spans state and federal practice. She is admitted to the bars of Massachusetts, New York and California. She also holds admission in the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second and Ninth Circuits. That mix of state and federal admissions has allowed her to handle matters on both coasts and in federal appellate settings.

Her work has involved courtroom practice and proceedings that require familiarity with appellate procedure. The combination of a law degree and an M.B.A. has shaped how she approaches legal problems that have commercial or organizational dimensions. Colleagues have noted that her background supports a practical, business-aware approach to legal work.

Across decades of practice she has maintained a presence in jurisdictions that cover distinct legal climates. Massachusetts and New York present different state law environments, while California brings yet another set of rules and practices. Admission in the Second and Ninth Circuits permits participation in appeals arising from those regions and means she can follow cases from trial courts into the federal appellate system.

Today she continues to practice in the jurisdictions to which she is admitted, advising and representing clients in matters brought in state and federal courts in Massachusetts, New York and California, and in appeals before the 2nd and 9th Circuit courts of appeals.
