About Wilbur D. Owens

Wilbur D. Owens III built a legal path that runs through Georgia courtrooms and regional trial practice. He completed his undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University in 1983 and earned his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1986. Those years set the stage for a career largely grounded in plaintiff-side litigation.

After law school he joined Bouhan, Williams and Levy, LLP in 1986. That early experience placed him in a firm environment where he handled a range of civil matters and gained courtroom time. In 2001 he became a member of Owens & Mulherin Injury Lawyers, an affiliation that has defined much of his later practice. The move marked a shift toward concentrated work on personal injury and related litigation.

Owens has kept active in professional groups. He holds membership in the American Trial Lawyers Association and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. He is also involved locally through the Savannah Bar Association and the Savannah Trial Lawyers Association. Those memberships reflect an ongoing engagement with trial practice and peer networks in Georgia.

His courtroom work has focused on representing individuals harmed in accidents and other injury incidents. He has handled cases through investigation, negotiation, and, when necessary, trial. He brings the kind of trial experience that trial associations emphasize: factual investigation paired with courtroom advocacy. Colleagues and opposing counsel know him as a practitioner who pursues claims methodically and argues them directly.

Over the decades his practice has adapted to changing patterns in personal injury law. He has worked on cases involving automobile collisions, premises liability, and other common injury claims. He has also navigated the procedural demands that come with litigating in Georgia state courts. That practical familiarity influences how he prepares cases and manages client expectations.

Today he remains based in Georgia and continues to practice through his association with Owens & Mulherin Injury Lawyers. He maintains active memberships in state and local trial groups and spends his practice time on plaintiff-side personal injury litigation, handling investigation, case development, and trial representation.
