About Whitney A.

Whitney A. Power built her legal foundation at the University of Idaho. She earned a Bachelor of Science in economics and political science in 2007 and finished law school at the University of Idaho College of Law in 2010. Those years set the stage for a regional practice that now spans three states.

She began her career at Power and Brown, LLC, joining the firm as an associate in 2010 soon after graduating law school. Three years later she became a partner at the same firm. That promotion coincided with an expanding caseload and greater courtroom responsibility. In 2018 she moved into a leadership role at Power & Power Law, where she serves as a partner lawyer.

Power is licensed to practice in Washington, Oregon and Alaska. She represents clients in courts across those jurisdictions and handles matters that take her into state courtrooms. Colleagues describe her as someone who understands the procedural and practical demands of multi-jurisdictional practice, and who pays attention to the detail required when a case crosses state lines.

Her professional activity extends beyond private practice. Since 2018 she has been a member of the Revitalization Board of the American Association for Justice. She also serves on the board of the Alaska Association for Justice, a role she has held since 2016. Those positions involve working with other lawyers on issues that affect trial practice and access to justice across the region.

Courtroom work accounts for a significant portion of her calendar. Over time she has moved from supporting roles to leading litigation teams. She negotiates with opposing counsel, prepares motions and appears at hearings. Her background in economics and political science informs how she frames damages, liability and the broader context in which disputes arise.

Outside of casework she stays engaged with professional groups and the communities where she practices. The combination of regional licensure, board service and partnership responsibilities has shaped the way she approaches client work. She currently practices at Power & Power Law, handling cases across Washington, Oregon and Alaska.
