About Wesley Dean
Wesley Dean Wornom built a career that moves between corporate finance departments and a long-standing solo practice. He has balanced work inside a multinational corporation with years spent advising clients directly. The result is a professional path that reads as practical and varied.
Wornom earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1977, completing 21 hours of taxation coursework while there. He received his undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Business Administration in business, from the College of William and Mary in 1975. The academic record shows an early interest in tax and business matters.
His early legal work began in private firms. In 1980 he worked at Lawler Felix and Hall. A few years later, in 1983, he served as a tax lawyer at Groom and Nordberg. Those positions gave him grounding in client representation and tax practice in a firm setting.
In 1985 Wornom moved into corporate roles at Marriott Corporation. He held several director-level posts, including Director of Taxation, Director of Real Estate Finance and Director of Acquisitions. Those titles reflect responsibilities on the corporate side—structuring deals, overseeing tax matters and handling real estate finance issues for a large company.
He returned to private practice in 1993 and has been a sole practitioner under the name Wesley D Wornom Lawyer. He holds admission to practice in California and Virginia. His bar and professional association memberships include the Virginia Bar since 1996, the Fredericksburg Area Bar Association since 1997, the Virginia Bar Association since 2006 and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association since 2007. Those memberships indicate continued engagement with regional and state bar activities.
Wornom’s career shows a steady thread: tax and real estate matters woven through both corporate leadership roles and individual client work. He concentrates on tax and real estate law in his current private practice.
