Wendy J. Olson is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of Idaho. She was admitted to the Idaho State Bar in 1990. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Olson is a partner at Stoel Rives LLP, a law firm located in Boise, Idaho. She has been practicing law for over 30 years, serving clients throughout the state of Idaho.
Ms. Olson earned her Juris Doctor degree from Stanford Law School in 1990. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at Drake University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism in 1986. During her time at Stanford, she interned with Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, the Student Press Law Center, and the Media Access Project.
Ms. Olson concentrates her practice in the areas of white-collar criminal defense and civil litigation. She represents individuals and businesses in matters involving government regulatory investigations, complex commercial disputes, and criminal defense. Her practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Olson has handled cases in the United States District Court for the District of Idaho, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Idaho Supreme Court. She served as the United States Attorney for the District of Idaho from 2010 to 2017, representing the government in all civil and criminal cases within her district. Prior to that, she was a Senior Litigation Counsel in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Idaho.
Ms. Olson is an active member of the Idaho State Bar Association and the National Association of Former U.S. Attorneys. She joined Stoel Rives LLP in 2017, bringing her extensive experience in public service to private practice. Ms. Olson is fluent in English and has been recognized for her contributions to the legal community in Idaho.
